John Visconti, Director of Sales and Marketing
John Visconti serves as the Director of Sales and Marketing for The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North. He oversees the catering and sales teams as well as all marketing and advertising efforts for the property. John has over 20 years of experience in the hotel industry and joins the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North from Wyndham Hotel Group, where he served as Director of Sales and Marketing and successfully oversaw the brand transition, renovation and repositioning of the new Wyndham Atlanta Galleria. Previously, John served as Director of Sales and Executive Assistant Manager for Thompson Hotels, overseeing revenue generation for the Boutique SAX Chicago Hotel, and for five years prior to that was Director of Sales and Marketing for the Hyatt Regency Miami. His career includes 15 years with InterContinental Hotels Group, serving as a director of sales and marketing in Toronto, Chicago, Miami and Atlanta markets. John received a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Toronto’s Ryerson University in the Hospitality Management Program. In his free time John enjoys golf and spending time with family and friends.
Helen Greenfield, Assistant Director of Sales
Helen became a member of the Starwood Family in 1996 as an Outlet Manager. Since then she has been very successful in the Hospitality Industry holding many different positions which include; Catering Sales Manager, Corporate Group Sales Manager, Director of Catering and the position she currently holds as Assistant Director of Sales. Helen began her career in 1982 in Upstate New York, in the area known as the Finger Lakes Region. She held positions of Restaurant Manager, Banquet Manager and then moved to Corporate Sales Manager prior to moving to Atlanta in 1996. After 33 years in the business Helen looks forward to her continued journey of people pleasing people.
Prentis VanDuvall, Business Travel Account Executive
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Prentis migrated to Atlanta, Georgia to attend school at Morehouse College. The City of Atlanta proved to be a learning ground for him when in his sophomore year he worked at a Helmsley Hotel on the Southside. With 20 years of experience in Hospitality with Hyatt, Marriott, Renaissance, Radisson, and Wyndham, he landed in the Perimeter area as a Meeting Planner for a Medical Education/Market Research Company which taught him the value of time for the Business Traveler. His six years of being a Business Travel Account Executive at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North have been filled with supplemental education into the mind of the Business Traveler which is the intrigue that makes him so successful in the market.
Sylvia Woolcock, Account Executive
Sylvia graduated from The Adirondack Community College with an Associate’s degree in Travel & Tourism in addition to earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management from FMU. She has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years with Holiday Inn, The Riverside Hotel Fort Lauderdale, Hilton, Crowne Plaza and Wyndham, she joined the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North in March 2013. In her current role, she targets groups within the Sports, Religious, Reunions, Education, Fraternal and Association market. Sylvia has joined several Association organizations to build a strong working relationship within the Association community. Sylvia enjoys working in the hospitality industry and is inspired to build long-lasting memorable relationships with the people she meets. Originally from Jamaica, W.I. Sylvia and her family currently reside in the Atlanta area. Sylvia’s passion is spending time with her family, friends, traveling, reading and enjoying life.
Saleh Akley, Corporate Sales Manager
Saleh became a member of the Starwood family in 2001 and has worked in various positions on the operations team. After managing the outlets department, he started his sales career as group sales manager and recently moved to a position as corporate sales manager. The hospitality industry runs deep in his roots from previous employment in restaurants and the transporation industry. In his spare time, Saleh enjoys traveling, cooking, and numerous outdoor adventures.
Tavon Ferguson, Senior Catering Sales Manager
Craig E. Hurlbut, Corporate Catering Sales Manager
Craig has been back at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North since early July 2013 after an almost 13 year absence. During his time away, Craig went to the newly opened Atlanta Capitol Plaza Hotel, in downtown Atlanta near Turner Field. While this hotel opened as an independent property, it went on to become the Holiday Inn – Atlanta Capitol Conference Center, now the Ramada Hotel, Atlanta Capitol Conference Center. After 5 years there as a Catering Sales Manager, Craig left the hotel arena, and entered into the Private Club sector, starting first as the Catering Sales Manager, and then assuming the role of Director of Catering at the Ansley Golf Club, in midtown Atlanta. After a major multi-million dollar renovation of the Golf Club he landed once again at the Holiday Inn, resuming his former duties as Catering Sales Manager. He is thrilled to be “back home” at the Westin! In his free time, Craig enjoys traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Jillian Mason, Catering Manager
Jillian Mason graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Interior Design. Her creative background lends itself to the wedding industry by knowing how to create a beautiful space and environment. With years of experience at wedding venues and the Hilton, she is now back in the Starwood Family from previously working with W Hotels. She has held positions in Events and F&B, so creatively finding solutions for meetings and special events comes as second nature. When not spending time with her husband and dog Ellie, she enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and finding great new restaurants.
Felicia McFarlane, Director of Events
While working on her B.S in Hospitality Management, Felicia McFarlane began her journey with Starwood in 1994 at the Sheraton Yankee Trader in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and later moved back to her hometown of New York City and continued her career development at the Essex House Hotel in 1996 as a Front Desk Agent and quickly progressed to a Reception Manager. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management. Felicia’s hospitality experience spans almost 20 years with roles in Housekeeping, Front Office/Reception and Catering Sales. Felicia has recently re-joined the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North to lead the Events Team after nearly 6 years away. She also enjoys spending time with her family, reading, movies and traveling.
Chris Russell, Senior Event Manager
Chris’s passion for hospitality began back at the Long Island Marriott in 1985, where he started as a busboy in Café Lido. Chris grew his career through Marriott as he held several managerial positions in Events and Banquets, and has worked in over 9 different properties. Chris’s main goal is to work closely with the Sales Team to ensure what is contracted is executed in a flawless manner, with flair. In his spare time, Chris enjoys spending time with his family, his 3 dogs, and playing tennis.
Shaun L. Young, Event Manager and Certified Wedding Planner
Shaun became a member of the Starwood family in May 2005 as part of the Westin Atlanta Airport team. She comes to us with 13 years of experience within the Hotel and Catering Industry. She is a member of the Multi-Cultural Weddings and Event Professionals (MWEP). Shaun works closely with the Sales Team to ensure that groups/events have the vision transformed from paper to reality. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, volunteering and her Sorority sisters. Shaun’s passion is Volunteering and Culinary Arts.
